There have been some really exciting things going on at the Bonny Snowdon Academy this month that I can’t wait to fill you in on…

New Ignite Hub: 

This month has seen the reveal of our new lovely and shiny Ignite Video Hub! There has been so much work going into this behind the scenes over the past few months and I’m so excited that the Ignite Members were able to start experiencing it at the beginning of April. 

I always listen to feedback and make changes where possible that are going to improve the experience of Ignite, which is exactly what I’ve done! Everything is super easy to navigate, all in one place and there is the option to customise the hub to you. I'm so happy with it and I've heard great feedback from my members which is just amazing!

Coloured Pencil Week: 

This month has seen the announcement of my first Coloured Pencil Week and I can’t tell you how excited I am about it. It’s going to be taking place from 20th-26th May and it’s going to be a week full of drawing. There’s going to be live sessions, draw-alongs, and a Facebook group where everyone can support each other, it’s just going to be fantastic! I’ve been working on creating some really great bonuses over the last couple of weeks and the lovely Lucy has been branding them and just making them look amazing, so all very exciting!

New Drawings: 

I’ve done lots of drawing this month including a fun and different art club subject of a statue, which everyone seemed to really enjoy, and we've now started a new subject, an adorable red panda, which we’ve been working on each week in Art Club. 

I’ve also been trying out some new surfaces. Anyone who knows me will know that I absolutely love Pastelmat and if you get a nice smooth piece you just can’t beat it in my opinion, but unfortunately, the quality is just so unpredictable, so I wanted to look into a few different options. I've already started testing some of them and I talk more about it in the video at the top of this page if you want to hear how I've been getting on. 

I’ve also drawn a new commission piece of a lovely Staffy called Tilly, which you may have seen on my socials, that is currently at the framers and I’ve created a new tutorial! It’s from the most fabulous photo by Wen photos and it’s a human portrait on drafting film using all the warm grey Prismacolors, so something a little bit different that my Ignite members will be able to have a go at soon.
