Can you believe another month has rolled by? Christmas will be upon us before we know it! So, this month has been quite a whirlwind, crazy busy month with a fair few different emotions flying around.

The Ignite Membership opened its doors:

We launched our Ignite membership, and the response has been phenomenal with lots of lovely new members all starting or continuing their creative journeys! I’m seeing some amazing pieces coming through already, which is just amazing.

I always like to really make sure I’m holding the hands of the new members so they can get off to the best start and feel confident, so I have been running some extra live sessions and trying to be around as much as I can to answer any questions. I love doing it but I have to admit by the end of the couple of weeks I decided “oh gosh, I need a mini break from peopleing”! It really is lovely though to get to speak to so many wonderful people from all over the world and hear their stories and get excited for their journeys.

Changes in the Snowdon Family:

There have been some big changes in my family with my eldest son moving to Australia. He left on the 4th, starting in Thailand, then Vietnam, and he’s now in Melbourne. It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions, considering we’ve been so close since their dad left in 2017. But, I’m also so excited for him and all the amazing adventures awaiting him. He has been ringing and messaging me every day and he’s having just the most fabulous time!

My poor daughter had her appendix removed just before she was due to go on holiday. Which was stressful but she has recovered really well. So we had a quiet couple of weeks with just my youngest son and me, with all the animals. It felt very strange and I have to admit I even had a mini weep when I would empty the dishwasher in the morning and there was barely anything in there. She is back now though and, as she loves to cook, the dishwasher is full to the brim again! I’m considering sending her back on holiday!

My Drawings:

I have completed my human portrait that I have been drawing on drafting film. I really challenged myself with this one, trying to draw her smooth skin on the film, but I absolutely loved it! I have learnt so much and I’m so proud of her. I tried using Prismacolor, I know would you believe it, and they’re fantastic on drafting film for drawing skin. Some of the colours aren’t lightfast but as this drawing is just for me it doesn’t worry me too much.

I have also started a large horse tutorial for the Ignite members, it’s the whole body and I’m drawing it on drafting film. It’s taking a while but gosh it’s going to be beautiful. It’s got this gorgeous shine to the fur and some lovely rich colours so I’m very excited to share that.

In Art Club, we have been working on our little bumble bee drawing which is really sweet. We have done a background, it’s sat on some flowers, and it’s been so much fun to draw together. I will say I am excited to be finishing it though because the next project for Art Club is going to be a Highland Cow! I have been wanting to draw it for so long and I know the members are super excited for this one! They might not be as enthusiastic when they realise how much long wavy hair there is to draw, but it’s going to be so much fun.

Coming up in October:

I’m so excited for October! I’m heading down to Stratford-Upon-Avon next week to look at the venue for the Great British Art Party that’s happening in November, to meet the florist, meet the audio-visual guy, and ask any extra questions before the day. There has been so much preparation over the last few months and it’s all coming together.

I’m then flying off to Nashville with Vicki for a week because I’m part of Stu McLaren’s Mastermind, so we have some live events to attend and I’m going to get to meet Stu McLaren who is just one of my biggest heroes ever! Going to have to try and keep my cool, but I am so excited to meet him and so many other fabulous people from the Mastermind which is going to be so lovely.

Once again another busy month has flown by and if you want to hear more about the events of the month then make sure to watch the video at the top of this blog.
