Just like that, another month has been and gone by, and what a fantastic month November has been! My last few Christmas commissions are complete, I’ve uploaded a fabulous new tutorial for the Ignite members and hosted my amazing first Great British Art Party!

New Drawings:

I have been working on a couple of commissions that are surprise Christmas presents and I’ve officially finished the last one this month, so they’re heading off to their new homes! I have also completed my first human commission of a little girl, and probably my last! I absolutely love her, but for now, I think I’m going to stick with animal commissions only!

This month has also seen the arrival of a new tutorial of a herd of deer taken by a fabulous local photographer, Nick Lancaster, for my Ignite Members and I’ve planned out some fabulous new tutorials for the New Year.

The main event of November was my very first Great British Art Party! It all started at the beginning of this year when I kept having visions of myself standing on a stage, having a good laugh, and teaching. It was something that kept coming back to me and it made me think that actually this idea could be something really amazing and my team agreed!

I’m always thinking big, so we came up with the name “The Great British Art Party”, we got the logo created, started putting together and designing the goodie bags for all the attendees, decided where we would hold our first event and slowly it all started coming to life! We chose the Welcombe Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon (the home of Shakespeare!) and it was just beautiful.

I knew I wanted to incorporate all the things I love most, like drawing live, drinking tea, eating amazing food, and having a good old chat, so that’s exactly what we did!

We had a 2-hour live draw along, an afternoon tea and, to finish the day off, we had a Q&A session. I honestly couldn’t stop smiling the whole day! I still haven’t stopped nearly 2 weeks on!

That’s why I’m so excited to announce the next one! The next Great British Art Party will take place in March 2024 in beautiful Edinburgh. I’m looking forward to seeing some of you in Edinburgh!
