My goodness, March has come and gone in a blink of an eye but so many exciting plans have been made, and conversations have been had this month!
Opening of the Ignite Membership:
The Ignite Membership is going to be welcoming new members very soon, on 3rd April, which means my team and I have been busy behind the scenes discussing and arranging lots of things, including some special free live events and some exciting upcoming tutorials and videos.
I always like to make sure any new members are properly welcomed into the Ignite community and feel supported right from the start of their coloured pencil journey, so that they can build their confidence and feel comfortable to start asking questions and sharing their artwork. I truly feel incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful community of artists from all over the world!
Workshop and Photoshoot:
Right back at the start of the month, we had a wonderful Coloured Pencil Workshop where we were drawing my little dog, Dora. It was such a fabulous day, drawing black fur on black paper which is something many people often find difficult or intimidating and it doesn’t need to be if you have the right techniques and knowledge.
I absolutely love doing these workshops and this one was so much fun! It really reminded me of how much I love to draw on darker surfaces and there were some fabulous results from those who attended.
I also had a photographer, the fabulous Maryanne Scott, come and visit me at home for a new photoshoot! I have to say, I was a little bit nervous as I don’t like having my photo taken, but it was actually a really enjoyable day and the photos have come out really well, so you will start to see some of those making their way onto my socials and into the Academy.
Trip to South Africa:
I got to experience the most amazing trip this month, as I travelled to South Africa to visit my wonderful friend and wing-woman Vicki! All I can say is wow! What an incredibly beautiful country! It was my first time there and I have left with so many amazing memories, but it also gave me time to read two fantastic books and brainstorm some really exciting ideas! I have really gained some insight into how I want to run my business and I was able to plan out my next three drawings and even started the first one as soon as I got back to the UK!
March has been such an invigorating month and really the kick up the bum I’ve needed to start moving in the direction I want to, so look out world, here I come!
