NEXT LIVE WORKSHOP

It’s that time of the month again when I fill you in on all that’s been going on behind the scenes at the Bonny Snowdon Academy. March has been so exciting with my second Great British Art Party, a holiday back to Norway and a new hobby! Let me get you caught up…

The Great British Art Party:

My team and I kickstarted the month with our second Great British Art Party, this time held in an amazing hotel in Edinburgh! I got to meet so many wonderful people who, I know online, but have never had the chance to meet in person. Some people had travelled across from America, the other end of the UK and some just over the hill from me, and being able to meet and give them a hug was just so fantastic! I loved it so much. We held the event at the Dalmahoy Hotel and it was such a beautiful venue, the event room was amazing and the staff were just fabulous in every way. This time we were also able to partner with Caran d’Ache who provided some gifts for everyone who attended which was a lovely little extra to have alongside their goodie boxes. It was just an amazing day and I can’t wait for the next one. My team has already started planning and looking for our next location.

Holiday:

This month is very similar to last month in that I headed to Norway with my family again. This time I went with my parents and younger sister, Heidi, instead of my children and we did a cruise which left from Newcastle, so nice and easy. No flights, trains or anything like that involved.

We did some amazing trips. I got to see the northern lights again, both from our balcony on the ship at 2 AM and then over a frozen lake in Sweden. I also got to go husky sledding again, but this time I was brave enough to have a go at driving and oh my goodness it was so much fun!

I will say, I got very seasick on the first day sailing up to Norway and then again when we were sailing back. Before I went away I had bought sea sickness bands, but they didn’t help at all and I ended up being locked in my room, unable to sit up, and then had an injection in my bottom! If you want to hear the full, rather funny story, make sure you watch the video at the top of this blog, but the injection definitely helped and after a very long sleep, I was all good again!

Drawings:

I haven’t done much drawing this month, which is very unusual for me, but before I went away I created this super cute little corgi tutorial for the Ignite Membership and I’ve loved seeing everyone’s versions of him. My Ignite members and I also finished drawing our Kingfisher in Art Club which was a really fun vibrant project. I’m currently working on a new commission, which I can’t share yet, and I’ve also started a drawing just for me. It’s an image that I’ve been wanting to draw for ages and I’m really enjoying it. It’s a lot of tonal values. You can see my drawings, including what I’m currently working on, on my Instagram @bonnysnowdonacademy.

New in the Snowdon Household:

My new infrared Sauna has arrived! Once it arrived ,and was all set up, I realised I didn’t have the right electrical connection outside… Oops, but I’ve had an electrician come this week to sort that out for me so I’m really excited to start using it.

I’m going to shock you all here because I have also started a new hobby, watercolour! I know I didn’t expect it either but I have been seeing so many videos on TikTok and I thought “I want to do that”, so I’ve just been having some fun creating some doodles and splashing colour around. It’s so freeing and I have to say, I’m really loving it.

So, that’s everything from this month.
