Somehow September’s nearly over (how?!). I’ve been looking back at what I’ve actually done this month and it’s been a busy one.

September Art Club Wins

We wrapped up our Cat in the Doorway on Pastelmat – tiny, postcard-size, but such a joy. I’m especially proud of the weathered wood on that door (and yes, our trees and shrubs are getting better too). I also squeezed in a quick scribbly landscape at the kitchen table – just proof that creativity doesn’t need hours; twenty minutes and a few messy colours will do.

Commission Corner

Lots of secret work on the go (I’m booked until mid-2026!). Quick tip for fellow commission artists: get your colour palette signed off first. Saves so many headaches later.

Big news – Spark has launched!

The thing I’m most excited about? Spark by Bonny Snowdon is finally here for Ignite members. It’s your creative pocket companion filled with meditations, pep talks, and quick five-minute nudges to remind you that you can do this, even on your busiest day. It’s not just about drawing, it’s about giving yourself permission to come back to you again. P.s. this will eventually be available to the public so keep your eyes peeled for updates! 

Seaside Reset

I escaped to Sandsend, my happy place on the Yorkshire coast, to record content for my Spark appt. Wind, rain, a good book, and one massage that stretched me into shapes I didn’t know I had. It was just amazing!  Sometimes the best treats aren’t fancy at all; just sea air and space to breathe.

Studio Glow-Up

My workspace is about to get a major makeover – new lighting, cameras, even an extractor fan to whisk away pencil dust. I’ll be in the garden studio while this one gets its fresh start, and I can’t wait.

November’s Ignite In Focus Week is all about landscapes (you voted for it!). So, expect trees, skies, and maybe the odd hedge. Zero perfectionism, just progress and a lot of fun.

I’m also launching my brand-new podcast Living in Full Colour this month 🎙 Think of it as a gentle nudge to turn the volume up on life – adding more brightness to the grey and remembering its  never too late for your own creative comeback. The first episodes will be landing soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear them. 🌈

And that’s the theme really – fresh starts and little sparks. Whether it’s finishing a doorway cat, walking on a windy beach, or opening the Spark app while the kettle boils, September’s reminded me that creativity doesn’t have to be big to be powerful.
