Well… first things first, I’ve just realised I completely missed April’s Coloured Pencil Chronicles!
Life has been wonderfully busy lately and before I knew it, April disappeared and May flew by too.
This month has been filled with travel, drawing, teaching, exciting plans inside Ignite, and a very special new furry family member.
Here’s what I’ve been up to this month…
🦁 An Incredible African Safari
One of the highlights of May was an amazing safari adventure with my family.
We saw incredible wildlife, made wonderful memories, and I came home with lots of reference photos that will inspire future tutorials and drawings.
🎨 Coloured Pencil Week 2026
Coloured Pencil Week has been such a joy.
Seeing people pick up pencils for the first time (or return after years away) and create artwork they’re proud of has been incredibly special. Watching confidence grow with every drawing is something I’ll never get tired of.
✨ A New Foundations Pathway Inside Ignite
I’ve also been creating a brand new Foundations Pathway inside Ignite, designed to help members build confidence with the essentials of coloured pencil in a simple, manageable way.
🐦 New Tutorials Coming Soon
I’ve been working on several new tutorials, including a colourful Lilac-Breasted Roller, foundational studies, and new wildlife projects inspired by Africa.
🏡 Studio Makeover Plans
Big changes are coming to the studio with new lighting, upgraded filming equipment and a complete refresh to help make tutorials and live sessions even better.
🐱 Meet Benny!
And finally… meet Eggs Benedict, otherwise known as Benny.
He’s the newest member of the family and has already completely stolen our hearts.
Looking back, May has been packed with adventures, lots of drawing, exciting new projects and plenty happening inside Ignite – make sure you watch the full video above.
Thank you so much for following along and sharing this creative journey with me
