I’m incredibly proud to be Yorkshire born and bred. I grew up in a tiny village just outside Ripon, helping out in my dad’s restaurant, finding my love for animals, riding pigs (yep this happened) and exploring the countryside barefoot—literally! It was the kind of childhood filled with fresh air, chalk drawings on pavements, and a real sense of community. And those Yorkshire values – hard work, honesty, kindness have stayed with me every step of the way.

So when it came to building Bonny Snowdon Academy, there was only one place it could truly belong…right here in the heart of Yorkshire.

From my studio in North Yorkshire, I’ve been lucky enough to share my love of coloured pencils with people all over the world. But as the Academy’s grown, I’ve felt a pull to share more of the real story, the messy, unfiltered, wonderfully chaotic bits of life behind the scenes.

And what better day to launch something new than Yorkshire Day?
