You may have seen that I’ve recently partnered with Derwent to draw this fabulous little Corgi using some of their wonderful products, and I’m so excited to share the details with you!

Exploring Derwent’s Beautiful Materials

For this piece, I worked on Lightfast paper – a beautifully smooth yet subtly textured surface that holds layers of pigment perfectly. I combined Derwent Lightfast and Drawing pencils to achieve those rich, vibrant colours and soft transitions.

• Derwent Drawing pencils are an absolute dream for backgrounds – their creamy cores provide fantastic coverage.
• Lightfast pencils layer seamlessly on top, bringing extra depth and vibrancy to the artwork.
• Dark Orange Lightfast is a new favourite – a gorgeous burnt orange that blends beautifully with purples, reds, and greens.
• Lightfast Mars Black is now my go-to for rich shadows and subtle glazing.
• The Derwent Super Point sharpener was perfect for capturing tiny details – it creates an impressively sharp point!
