It’s International Dog Day today, and I can’t think of a lovelier day to tell you about something very special I’m doing to support The Yorkshire Rescue – a wonderful charity local to me here in Yorkshire!

From 21st- 25th September 2026, I’m holding a very special charity coloured pencil workshop and I’d absolutely love you to join me!

Together, we’re going to draw gorgeous rescue dog Trixy in five coloured pencil sessions, while raising money for The Yorkshire Rescue, a wonderful volunteer-run charity helping dogs and cats across Yorkshire find their forever homes.

Tickets are just £8! £4 from every £8 ticket goes to Moorview Rescue Ltd, registered charity 1155095 (working name TheYorkshire Rescue)

Meet Trixy 🐾

Trixy is a gorgeous spaniel cross who was rescued with her mum and eight siblings when she was just 11 days old.

She was fostered by Abi, one of The Yorkshire Rescue’s trustees, and after two months it became pretty clear she wasn’t going anywhere!

She’s now happily settled into life in the Yorkshire countryside, stealing slippers, playing with her Labrador friend Goose and generally ruling the roost.

When I met Trixy, I completely fell in love with her and I knew she would be the perfect model for our charity workshop.

What Will You Learn?

Trixy’s beautiful black coat gives us a brilliant opportunity to learn how to draw realistic black fur in coloured pencil.

Because black fur isn’t actually just black!

Across the five sessions, we’ll explore the hidden colours within Trixy’s coat and look at values, layering, pencil pressure, fur direction, highlights and shadows to create realistic-looking fur with depth and texture.

These are all skills you can take away and use when drawing your own dogs, cats and other animals too.

And whether you’re completely new to coloured pencils or already have experience, you can join in. I’ll explain not only what I’m doing, but why I’m doing it, so you can start making those decisions for yourself.

What’s Included in the Charity Workshop?

Your £8 charity workshop ticket includes:

  • Five coloured pencil drawing sessions released from 21st–25th September
  • Each part sent directly to you by email as it’s released
  • Lifetime access to all five sessions (for as long as Bonny Snowdon Academy Ltd continues to operate the platform, and in any event for a minimum of 24 months from purchase)
  • Trixy’s reference photo
  • Line art
  • Materials list
  • The freedom to draw along at your own pace

All parts will be sent each day via email.

Draw Trixy & Support The Yorkshire Rescue ❤️

This is the first charity draw-along I’ve ever held, and I honestly don’t know how much we could raise  but I’d absolutely love to find out!

£4 from every £8 ticket goes to Moorview Rescue Ltd, registered charity 1155095 (working name TheYorkshire Rescue), helping them continue their incredible work rescuing and rehoming animals like Trixy.

So you’ll get to spend some lovely creative time drawing, learn new coloured pencil skills and help give more animals the chance of their own happy ending.

How flipping lovely is that?

I’d absolutely love you to be part of it.
